The map below shows the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Ishpeming, where Frederick Styrlund and his family settled on arriving in America in the summer of 1879, is located at the red star near the maps center. The family stayed there until 1884 when they moved to Iron Mountain, Michigan which is shown on the map below as being located on the Wisconsin border .
